The recent conservation of the painting of a soldier on a beach at Clouds Hill re-opened an art-historical cold case. Can the picture really be a likeness of TE Lawrence, whom the soldier seems to resemble? Join the National Trust’s Senior Curator of Pictures and Sculpture, Dr John Chu to examine the archival and physical evidence gathered by volunteers, conservators, and curators, and retrace the path to solving a mystery.
